Gorgeous,
How is it possible to be highly successful like you are and be rejected over and over again?
Because what you experience requires tons of energy, resilience and willpower to bounce back all the time.
Don’t get me wrong, you worked hard to have the position and title that you have. This is non-negotiable, Gorgeous.
You’re in a privileged position; you’re trusted, and you’re recognised by your peers and senior management
But excelling at what you do and being passed over for promotions repeatedly is a serious whiplash.
And I admire you for living with this contradiction (mentally and emotionally) daily, but I guess you don’t want to be admired, right? You want to land your next leadership role.
The reality? Experiencing unfairness and being rejected repeatedly is taking a toll on you. It goes beyond being overlooked.
The truth? You cannot let this ‘no, not yet’ cycle perpetuate over and over again.
Why? Because deep down, it starts to erode your self-worth, confidence, and sense of being valued.
You no longer go above and beyond
You don’t sacrifice your evenings and weekends like before
You no longer join the drinks on Thursday
You no longer play the lifesaver of the day
And it’s not like you didn’t try; you listened to their recommendations and gained more experience and strategic leadership exposure.
Let’s agree on this: Gorgeous, you’ve been patient, but now you want to move forward.
Your performance and your capability are objective. They can be measured, evidenced, demonstrated — and you’ve done that, repeatedly.
But next-level leadership isn’t. It’s a perception.
It lives in the eyes of the people who decide, shaped by what they notice, remember, and associate with you. That’s not a fact; it’s actually a judgment that can be influenced.
This inner contradiction between your public image and your self-image stems from the gap between the value you create and the value senior management perceives as evidence that you are ready for next-level leadership opportunities.
Nothing about this is fixed in stone. So, now imagine the opposite.
You walk into the room, and you don’t have to prove yourself. You deserve to be in the room. When you speak, you command the room, and people listen.
Your name comes up in conversations you’re not even in, and people ask for your opinion on the next big project.
Gorgeous, the problem is not you. You only perform and navigate within a workplace with a systemic issue.
The good news?
You’re part of the equation, so you have some agency.
You can break this cycle by learning how to position yourself, communicate your next-level leadership value and become visible to the people who can influence your next move.
This is the purpose of Recognised For What’s Next — a visibility audit and realignment that moves you from “reliable performer” to being perceived as next-level leadership material in the eyes of the people who decide.
If you want to stop being passed over for promotions and start taking ownership of how you are perceived by senior management and how you are positioned for your next leadership role, I have only 3 coaching spots available now.
Be seen and valued at the level of your ambition.
Reply ‘Recognised’, and I’ll send you further details.
Warm regards,
Gaëlle
